Introducing the new HP Inc Elite Dragonfly, the world’s lightest compact business convertible.
HP Inc have announced the released of the ‘lighter than air’ HP Elite Dragonfly, featuring a durable iridescent dragonfly blue finish, diamond cut accents and an impressive screen to body ratio.
Back in February of this year, Neowin stated that “HP only makes its EliteBooks in Natural Silver, but you just have to look across the board to its consumer Spectre PCs to see just how much better they could look. HP’s Spectre laptops are among the most beautiful on the market, and I really wish that they would bring some of those designs over to the Elite lineup.” This is exactly what HP have aimed to do with the Elite Dragonfly.
Following HP’s global environmental initiative to use recycled plastics in their products, the Dragonfly is the world’s first notebook made using ocean-bound plastic material, so we can all feel a little less guilty for wanting the latest available technology!
The iridescent dragonfly blue colouring is a sophisticated tone that represents confidence, prestige and individuality. The Dragonfly colour instils a sense of uniqueness for the user, providing a stark contrast that stands out against a sea of black plastic, carbon and paint. All without having to compromise between having a powerful or lightweight machine.
HP Workwell is a wellbeing software that comes preinstalled. It is a system-level software that offers personalised recommendations for breaks and activities dependent on the user.
It has been stated that 82% of ITDM’s (Integrated Technology and Device Manufacturer) feel that the technology employees carry is a reflection of their company. This means that employees should be seen with the most up-to-date technology on offer, all whilst having the power to keep up with their workload and be light enough for that individual to be as mobile as possible.
With 49% of employees spending more than 4 hours in meetings per week, the Elite Dragonfly is the perfect new offering for collaboration and presentation to and with their peers.
Design
The HP Inc Elite Dragonfly has been redesigned with a quiet keyboard and the world’s highest screen-to-body ratio in a 13” business convertible. This means there is 86% more room for on-screen ideas with less bulk around the edges. The Dragonfly offers 3 screen options, 1w FHD - 400 nits, HDR 400 UHD – 550 nits or HP Sure View Gen3 – 1,000 nits.
Starting at less than 1kg, the Dragonfly uses U-Series processors, intel Quad-Core for snappy performance with all day battery life (up to 24.5 hours with HP Fast Charge (16+ hours local video playback, 9+ hours real wireless web browsing, charge to 4 hours of battery in 30 minutes)). As with all other HP Inc end compute units, it is durable and undergoes hundreds of tests, including drop and compression. These tests will also ensure that it can undergo 19 Ml-std 810G tests and 120k hours of HP total test process.
Security & Privacy
Every PC purchased is a security decision for any company. HP Inc make this decision easier by ensuring that they implement certain security features, such as the Biometric authentication, HP privacy camera and the optional HP Sure Recover with embedded reimaging. HP Sure Start protects where normal antivirus does not, by using its self-healing PC BIOS.
Collaboration
The new Elite Dragonfly has front-facing and world-facing microphones, HP Noise Cancellation Software, HD Webcam and HP Rechargeable Active Pen G3 (Optional), x360 design-4 configuration modes. To make it easier for employees to collaborate and present it has multiple ports available, these include; full featured ports; 2 x Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 Gen1, HDMI, Headphone and Security Lock Slot. The Dragonfly also has up to 2TB storage and up to 16GB RAM. The integrated IR sensors allow fast login through a hybrid IR/Webcam for Windows Hello making collaboration seamless and ensuring that the hardware can keep up with any creative flow.
