Motor Neurone Disease Association Charity Sailing Event

Stephen Hawking once said:
"My advice to other disabled people would be, concentrate on things your disability doesn't prevent you doing well, and don't regret the things it interferes with. Don't be disabled in spirit, as well as physically."

Charity Partnerships

MNDA West Berkshire is one of Ultima's two elected charity partners, alongside Macmillan Cancer Support.

A diagnosis of motor neurone disease is devastating, leaving those affected unsure of what to do next and where to turn.

The MNDA West Berkshire branch is run entirely by volunteers and aims to provide the best possible support to local people with MND, their families, and carers.

MNDA are a leader in funding and promoting research projects that lead to new understanding and treatments, bringing us closer to a cure.

Sailing Event - Nervous Wrecks 2.0Nervous Wrecks

On Saturday 2nd June Nervous Wrecks are hosting a fantastic charity fundraising day in aid of MNDA & Burghfield Sailability at Burghfield Sailing Club.

This is their second year running the event - last year was a massive success raising over £12,000 which gives them a huge target to aim for this year!

The sailing event will be a battle of nerves between competitors with a light hearted social in the evening including music, a hog roast and many different types of beer!

It is open to all whether you want to compete, bob around the course or just have a few beers in the evening.

All proceeds from the event will be split between MNDA West Berkshire and Sailability – the charity providing boating regardless of disability.

Support

Ultima will be supplying goody bag items for the event, and we are supporting the hog roast too!

Anyone can partake in the event - whether you're an avid sailor, or just want to go along for the fun.

Further information is available on the Nervous Wrecks website, including tickets and details of how to join in the 6-hour endurance challenge!
