Microsoft Teams is going to have a big push this year, especially with Skype for Business Online going end of life and customers being migrated to Teams. For customers wanting to trial Teams, you are now able to have a 6 month trial for up to 1000 users under CSP with Ultima. Contact your account manager if you'd like to discuss this further.
Phone system auto-attendant and calling queues features will be available as a free add-on for customers who already have either a stand-alone phone system subscription and/or an Office 365 suite subscription that includes phone system available now. This creates more flexibility for customers who today are only able to utilise these features if they have phone system and a Microsoft calling plan. Microsoft has decided to change its branding when it comes to ‘Online’ Office applications. Now instead of Excel Online you will see Excel for the web or Excel in a browser. You will already see within Microsoft Teams when you try to open an Excel or Word document, you are presented with the option to open in Desktop App or Browser. Naming of the Online Server applications such as Exchange Online and SharePoint Online remain unchanged for the moment.
Forms Pro is a simple tool to allow your company to get insightful feedback from your customers and peers through an enterprise survey solution. Building on Microsoft Forms for Office 365 with AI-assisted features and insights, this tool can integrate with your Office 365, Dynamics and much more. If you already have Dynamics 365 Enterprise level licences you will have access to 2,000 survey responses per tenant a month included. If not, you are able to trial this for 30-days. Released 1st August, this new service will allow customers to run both Linux and Windows virtual machines on single-tenant physical servers. Azure Dedicated Host is an Azure service that provides physical servers - able to host one or more Azure virtual machines - dedicated to your organisation and your workloads. The server capacity is not shared with other customers. As you provision the host, you gain direct visibility and control over the underlying Azure infrastructure. For more information click here.
As Microsoft do every year, they will be releasing new functionality for Dynamics coming in October. With the release of the new Microsoft Power Platform, we see more than 400 new capabilities being added to Dynamics 365, Power BI, Power Apps and Flow.
