Dogs for Good - Ultima's Charity Partnership

Social-Tea-Images.png
Ultima recently had the pleasure of being invited to the Dogs for Good national training centre to join their Social Afternoon Tea.

We were very privileged to be part of such a memorable day where puppy socialisers, dogs and the clients met for the first time; sharing stories from their training and how the relationships were progressing. We also enjoyed a tour of the kennels and training facilities, while of course meeting some puppies - such as Quill pictured right - which was a welcome bonus.

Dogs for Good explores ways dogs can help people overcome specific challenges and enrich and improve their lives and communities. For over 25 years they have been creating amazing partnerships between people and dogs, and in 2018 will celebrate their 30th anniversary. The charity has also welcomed several film crews to their centre this year, including a special visit from Aled Jones.

Watch their film below to see the incredible things that happen when Dogs for Good bring people and dogs together:

We felt very lucky to witness the power of dogs in people's lives and are proud to be a Dogs for Good Puppy Partner. Our puppy, Poppy, is undergoing her socialisation training currently. Once completed she will be trained by Dogs for Good and learn a number of techniques, including push, pull, fetch and speak; after which she will be matched to a client in the hope of a successful partnership.

Ultima has helped educate Dogs for Good regarding data protection - in particular with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations). We are also due to assist with their IT transformation project to the cloud.

Dogs for Good relies entirely on gifts and donations, therefore if you would like to help there are many ways to do so, including:

  • Donate by text - text DOGS23 then the amount you wish to donate to 70070
  • Take part in one of their fundraising events, including overseas challenges
  • Sponsor a puppy for £5 a month and follow their progress towards becoming an assistance or community dog
